Anthropic Commits $100 Million to Train 10,000 Enterprise AI Engineers by 2027
The startup's Claude Frontier Academy will place corporate engineers into residency-style training programs as demand for deployment talent outpaces supply.

Anthropic plans to invest $100 million into a dedicated training initiative called the Claude Frontier Academy, designed to prepare enterprise engineers to integrate artificial intelligence systems into corporate operations, according to a report by CNBC Business (https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/02/anthropic-to-invest-100-million-to-train-ai-engineer-talent.html).
The initiative aims to train 10,000 "frontier deployed engineers" from companies participating in the Claude Partner Network by the end of 2027. Initial cohorts will draw technical personnel from Accenture, Morgan Stanley, Novo Nordisk, and several consulting firms. Anthropic stated that the academy originated from its experience working directly with enterprise clients to implement its Claude models.
"We hear our customers and partner organizations say, we need more people who can bring together familiarity and — with the enterprise tech and business context — and combine that with the highest level of AI fluency to solve the problems that need solving," Shambhavi Shambhavi, Anthropic's head of strategy and operations for partnerships, told CNBC Business.
The program begins with a simulated enterprise deployment accompanied by a graded assessment. Engineers who pass the evaluation enter a residency structured around a medical teaching framework, analyzing casework alongside instructors prior to final assessment and credentialing. The company expects the first cohort to complete certification in early 2027.
Steve Corfield, Anthropic's global head of business development and partnerships, stated in the announcement that the academy aims to train engineers using Anthropic's internal learning methods to establish deployment standards within corporate settings.
The rollout coincides with elevated demand for specialized technical talent. According to labor tracking data from Draup provided to CNBC Business, job postings for forward-deployed engineers and related AI roles have increased across the finance sector this year.
The program also comes as Anthropic prepares for a potential public offering later this year, where it could seek a valuation of up to $2 trillion. A leaked IPO prospectus previously reported by Reuters showed Anthropic generated nearly $4.6 billion in revenue last year alongside an operating loss exceeding $8 billion.
