Attendance spans several major AI and hardware companies. Alphabet confirmed on Monday that CEO Sundar Pichai will attend the lunch. Tensions escalated recently after a former Anthropic researcher accused frontier AI labs of 'gambling with our lives.' While Amodei has published an essay advocating that companies 'pace the frontier,' and leaders such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Musk have agreed with calls for an industry-wide slowdown, Trump has rejected safety warnings, calling fears surrounding AI a 'hoax' and a 'scam' in recent weeks.
