IDEXX Laboratories shares climbed 20.2% on Monday to trade at $662.55 after the veterinary diagnostics company reported third-quarter results that surpassed Wall Street estimates and raised its full-year 2026 financial forecast.

According to reporting by Yahoo Finance (https://247wallst.com/investing/etf/2026/11/02/idexx-soars-20-2-on-earnings-beat-what-it-means-for-your-sp-500-index-fund/?.tsrc=rss), the stock touched an intraday high of $668.54 after closing the previous session at $551.21. The rally brought the market valuation of the Westbrook, Maine-based company to roughly $52.2 billion.

IDEXX delivered GAAP diluted earnings per share of $4.01 for the quarter, beating consensus estimates of $3.716 and marking its seventh consecutive quarterly earnings beat. Revenue grew 9.9% year-over-year to $1.214 billion, topping consensus expectations of $1.192 billion. Operating performance strengthened alongside sales, as gross margin widened by 110 basis points to 62.9% and operating margin expanded 100 basis points to 33.1%.

The operational growth came against a backdrop of slowing clinical traffic across veterinary practices. While U.S. same-store clinical visits fell an estimated 1.8%, IDEXX posted an 11% organic increase in Companion Animal Group (CAG) Diagnostics recurring revenue and a 15% organic rise in VetLab consumables. Chief Executive Mike Erickson told analysts on the earnings call that company growth does not depend on positive clinic visit volume.

Reflecting the quarter's momentum, management raised its 2026 annual revenue forecast to between $4.741 billion and $4.767 billion, up from an earlier outlook of $4.700 billion to $4.745 billion. Full-year EPS guidance was lifted to a range of $14.96 to $15.16, compared to the previously guided $14.69 to $14.94.

The company tempered its operating margin target slightly to between 32.1% and 32.3% to reflect costs associated with buying CoVet, an artificial intelligence clinical assistant for veterinary teams. Chief Financial Officer Andrew Emerson indicated that the CoVet acquisition generates an operating margin headwind of approximately 30 basis points split across the third and fourth quarters.

Looking ahead, IDEXX is preparing to debut its next point-of-care analyzer, the IDEXX MultiCue Dx, during an investor session at the VMX veterinary conference on Monday, January 18. The company is also scheduling broad North American rollout of hemangiosarcoma detection on its IDEXX Cancer Dx platform starting in the first quarter.
