Meta Platforms drew renewed attention from asset managers following the September rollout of its consumer AI agent, Muse, according to the third-quarter 2026 investor letter from Janus Henderson's Global Sustainable Equity Fund, reported by Yahoo Finance (https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/why-janus-henderson-bullish-meta-212034266.html?.tsrc=rss).

Janus Henderson highlighted that Muse, built to shop around on behalf of users for products ranging from clothing to insurance policies, attracted more than 500,000 users during its initial week, including over 250,000 daily active users. Fund managers noted that the tool's entrance rekindled market scrutiny for perceived 'AI losers,' specifically across software, insurance brokerage, and traditional information services sectors facing pressure from task-oriented autonomous agents.

The performance review coincided with a wider rotation across artificial intelligence holdings during the quarter. Janus Henderson's Global Sustainable Equity Fund returned 1.86% in the third quarter of 2026, matching its benchmark and outperforming the IA Global peer group average of 0.38%. Portfolio managers reported that businesses tied to physical AI infrastructure—including power generation, cooling hardware, and electrification equipment—came under selling pressure, while software and service companies previously viewed as vulnerable to AI displacement mounted a recovery.

The fund's managers maintained that long-term AI gains will favor enterprises possessing proprietary data pools, entrenched network effects, and durable pricing power, rather than commodified hardware exposure. The letter also pointed to external operational headwinds, such as growing data-center electricity consumption, renewable power integration challenges, and wider macroeconomic friction from sustained interest rates and energy prices.

Meta shares closed at $614.99 on October 30, 2026, giving the social networking and computing firm a market valuation of roughly $1.56 trillion. The equity logged a one-month gain of 17.69%, trading between a 52-week range of $520.26 and $779.82. Portfolio records compiled by Insider Monkey showed 254 hedge funds held Meta shares at the close of the second quarter of 2026, slightly down from 262 funds in the prior quarter.
