Polymarket Hires Goldman Sachs Veteran Lisa Mantil as Head of Institutional Growth
The prediction market platform recruits a former Wall Street partner to build the infrastructure, liquidity, and products needed for institutional trading.

Prediction market platform Polymarket has appointed Goldman Sachs veteran Lisa Mantil as head of institutional growth, aiming to attract institutional liquidity and participation as the company builds out its U.S. presence.
The executive hire was announced on Tuesday, September 29, as reported by ReadWrite (https://readwrite.com/institutional-growth-polymarket/) based on an initial report by Kelly Cloonan at MarketWatch. In the new role, Mantil will lead Polymarket's engagements with banks, trading firms, investment managers, and corporations.
Polymarket stated that Mantil will oversee the development of products, underlying infrastructure, and market liquidity required for institutional participants to trade on prediction markets at scale. Her brief encompasses technical and product requirements alongside institutional business development.
Mantil spent nearly 30 years at Goldman Sachs, where she was named partner in 2018. Polymarket has not released specific product roadmaps, technical specifications, or timelines for rolling out institutional-grade trading tools.
The appointment comes as Polymarket works to expand its footprint in the United States following regulatory oversight from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The hire also follows other recent executive additions, including the appointment of the platform's first chief financial officer earlier in September and a chief growth officer over the summer.
While retail traders have generated the bulk of prediction market activity to date, onboarding regulated institutions requires deeper liquidity, dedicated order books, and institutional-grade market infrastructure. Polymarket's appointment of Mantil establishes senior leadership over those initiatives without yet deploying finished institutional products.
