U.S. technology equities and semiconductor suppliers rebounded on Tuesday, halting a three-session decline driven by widespread selling across artificial intelligence holdings.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rose roughly 1% while the S&P 500 gained approximately 0.5%, according to afternoon market analysis published by CNBC Business (https://www.cnbc.com/investingclub/2026/11/03/election-day-here-is-the-no-1-issue-were-watching-as-a-signal-for-stocks.html). The trading rebound was paced by semiconductor makers alongside providers of power management, electrical hardware, and liquid cooling systems designed for intensive AI data center installations.

Among infrastructure suppliers, electrical equipment maker Eaton advanced after reporting quarterly financial results that exceeded expectations and increasing its full-year earnings guidance.

The rally in chipmakers and infrastructure names unfolded despite weakness in Apple, whose shares dropped about 2% after paring an earlier decline of nearly 4%. Apple's downturn followed a softer-than-expected gross margin projection caused by increasing memory chip costs from suppliers such as Micron. Apple had closed at a record high the previous Thursday, after recently outperforming cloud hyperscalers including Amazon, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and Alphabet.

Market attention also converged on the U.S. midterm elections. Technology investors are watching whether anti-data center rhetoric that intensified among politicians during campaign season subsides once ballots are tallied. Local resistance and regulatory debates over heavy utility power consumption have become key challenges for hyperscale developers. Market analysts noted that the conclusion of voting could serve as an operational clearing event for the AI infrastructure buildout, even as broader questions linger regarding how ongoing capital expenditure will be financed.

Economic releases reinforced market movement throughout the session. Benchmark U.S. Treasury yields advanced as bond prices retreated, reversing a recent pattern in which fixed-income securities attracted safety bids during tech drawdowns. Yields responded to better-than-expected macroeconomic readings, including the U.S. government's Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), factory orders, and durable goods orders.

Wall Street is now tracking high-profile corporate earnings scheduled after Tuesday's closing bell, including reports from Advanced Micro Devices, Super Micro Computer, and Arista Networks. Semiconductor materials supplier Qnity Electronics is slated to report ahead of Wednesday's market open, followed later in the week by the government's nonfarm payrolls report on Friday.
