AskBobAI Founder Plans 3,400-Mile Documentary Road Trip on Public AI Sentiment
Enterprise search startup AskBobAI is sending a film crew across more than 20 US cities to record how ordinary citizens view artificial intelligence.

AskBobAI, a US startup developing enterprise AI search and knowledge tools, is launching a cross-country documentary project to capture how everyday Americans are experiencing artificial intelligence, as reported by The Next Web (https://thenextweb.com/news/america-vs-ai-documentary-road-trip).
The project, titled "America vs. AI," spans roughly 3,400 miles across more than 20 cities. AskBobAI founder and chief executive Andrew DeGood will host the series alongside leadership consultant Liz Short, with filmmaker Alyx Ancira producing.
The planned route begins and ends in Chicago, with scheduled stops in Louisville, Nashville, Birmingham, Raleigh, Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Buffalo. According to the project's website, filming runs from Oct. 9 to Oct. 26.
The production team plans to focus on five core topics: jobs, schools, small business, family life, and media trust. Short clips and updates will be published throughout the trip, followed by the release of the complete documentary on YouTube. The crew is recruiting interview subjects via an open online submission form requiring no prior technical background.
The project coincides with growing domestic skepticism toward automated tools. According to Pew Research Center data cited by The Next Web, about half of Americans currently use AI chatbots, but 40% believe AI will make society worse. Among adults under 30, a majority report being more worried than excited about the technology, and 73% expect AI adoption to reduce overall employment.
Because AskBobAI sells commercial AI search and knowledge management software to businesses, the startup holds a direct commercial interest in the ongoing public reception of the technology. DeGood stated that the documentary aims to reflect diverse viewpoints across the workforce, ranging from early adopters to workers concerned about job security.
