Withings Paywalls Third-Party Health Data Syncing for New Accounts
New users must pay $99.50 annually for Withings Plus to automatically export fitness metrics to Apple Health and Google Health.

Connected health hardware maker Withings has introduced a policy requiring new device buyers to pay a subscription fee to automatically export their metrics to third-party platforms such as Apple Health and Google Health.
According to a report by The Verge (https://www.theverge.com/tech/1012350/withings-plus-subscription-new-users-october-13-2026), citing forum discussions spotted by MacRumors, Withings has placed automatic third-party data synchronization behind its Withings Plus service. The subscription costs $9.95 per month or $99.50 per year.
The requirement applies to all new Withings accounts created on or after October 13, 2026. New devices include a one-month free trial of Withings Plus that enables third-party sync during the promotional period.
If a user does not maintain the subscription after the trial expires, automated syncing to external services pauses. Data already transferred during the active period remains in the third-party apps and will not be deleted.
Users who created an account on or before October 12, 2026, retain access to automatic third-party synchronization without a subscription. According to Withings support staff, grandfathered status attaches to the user account rather than a single device, allowing existing account holders to add new Withings scales or smartwatches without incurring software fees.
