Nvidia Shares Slip as $108 Billion Revenue Guidance Sets Steep Sequential Hurdle

Meeting the fiscal third-quarter outlook requires adding $11.8 billion in sequential sales while absorbing a slight gross margin contraction.

Nvidia shares fell 1.35% to $203.90 in premarket trading on November 4, 2026, as investors evaluated the semiconductor maker's ability to clear a demanding revenue target for its fiscal third quarter, according to a report published by Yahoo Finance (https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/nvidia-stocks-decline-1-35-193403778.html?.tsrc=rss) citing GuruFocus data.

Clearing the forecast requires Nvidia to add roughly $11.8 billion in revenue sequentially—a 12.3% jump over the approximately $96.2 billion reported in its fiscal second quarter. The company's guidance anchors third-quarter revenue at a $108 billion midpoint, with an expected variance of 2%.

The revenue expansion coincides with a projected compression in profitability. Nvidia guided for a non-GAAP gross margin of 74%, plus or minus 50 basis points, compared to the 75% non-GAAP margin recorded in the preceding quarter. At the midpoint of both ranges, the projections imply roughly $79.9 billion in quarterly gross profit.

The operational targets deliberately omit data-center compute shipments to China, reflecting ongoing regulatory restrictions on advanced artificial intelligence hardware exports to the market.

Investor scrutiny is focused on manufacturing execution as the company navigates its Vera Rubin platform rollout, the successor to the Blackwell microarchitecture. How effectively Nvidia manages transition expenses and volume shipments will determine how much top-line expansion converts into operating profit.
