Rivian Chief Financial Officer Claire McDonough to Step Down in October
Vice President of Finance Derek Mulvey will step into the interim financial leadership role while the automaker searches for a permanent successor.

Electric vehicle maker Rivian disclosed in a regulatory filing on Thursday that Chief Financial Officer Claire McDonough will step down from her position at the end of October.
The company stated that McDonough is resigning to pursue another career opportunity and to relocate to the East Coast to reside closer to her family. Rivian explicitly noted that her exit does not stem from any internal disagreements.
The executive transition was first reported by TechCrunch on Thursday.
Rivian has already initiated a search to find a permanent successor for the financial head position. In the interim, Vice President of Finance Derek Mulvey will assume the role of acting chief financial officer once McDonough departs.
McDonough's departure comes during a critical operational phase for the automaker, as it works to execute several of its most ambitious corporate milestones.
Specifically, Rivian is focused on scaling both production output and customer deliveries for its R2 SUV model. The company began shipping the R2 SUV to buyers earlier this summer.
Mulvey will guide Rivian's financial operations through the executive transition as the company continues to manage the capital requirements associated with ramping its vehicle assembly lines.
