Apple Pushes US iPhone Duo Shipping Estimates Into Early 2027
Delivery dates for the company's first foldable phone slipped past the holiday window within days of preorders opening.
Delivery estimates for Apple's first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, have slipped into January 2027 for new US online orders following the opening of preorders on Friday, according to a report from Engadget (https://www.engadget.com/2289629/iphone-duo-shipping-estimates-have-already-been-pushed-back-to-2027/).
In a statement to CNBC cited by Engadget, Apple described consumer demand as "nothing short of extraordinary." The company said it is "working hard to get this revolutionary new product into customers' hands as quickly as possible" and will continue taking online orders.
The revised delivery windows mean customers ordering now will miss the traditional year-end holiday window. While some early buyers secured in-store pickup dates as early as Oct. 23 or shipping windows across November and December, current listings on Apple's online store push delivery out to January 2027.
Retail store availability remains unclear. Apple's online checkout system notes that shoppers can check back on Oct. 24 for potential local store pickup availability, but the company has not confirmed whether physical Apple Stores or authorized resellers will carry walk-in inventory. Meanwhile, third-party retailer Best Buy listed November shipping estimates at the time of publication.
