Bessemer Venture Partners announced Wednesday that it has raised $5.75 billion across two new funds to accelerate investments across the artificial intelligence sector, as reported by TechCrunch Venture (https://techcrunch.com/2026/09/23/vc-firm-bessemer-now-has-another-5-75b-to-invest-in-what-else-ai/).

The firm dedicated $1.75 billion of the capital to seed and early-stage investing, while allocating the remaining $4 billion to growth-stage startups. The new capital will target companies across the AI ecosystem, including compute, infrastructure, foundation models, developer tools, application-layer software, and agentic technology.

Bessemer, historically known for backing software-as-a-service companies such as Box, DocuSign, and Gainsight, has significantly ramped up its exposure to artificial intelligence. Since 2022, the firm has backed more than 260 AI-native companies and deployed $3 billion into AI-related startups. Its current portfolio includes Anthropic, Cognition, Legora, Perplexity, Ramp, Shopify, and Waymo.

"AI-native companies are scaling faster than any category of technology we’ve backed before," Bessemer Partner Byron Deeter said in the firm's announcement.

In remarks to Bloomberg cited by TechCrunch Venture, Deeter added that venture firms must continue expanding their capital bases because high-growth companies remaining private longer has become a "permanent structural shift."
