TNT Sports Head Luis Silberwasser to Step Down as David Berson Takes Over Combined Skydance Sports Group
CBS Sports chief David Berson will lead the newly unified sports division as the merger of Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery closes.

Luis Silberwasser, chairman and chief executive of TNT Sports, is stepping down as the merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery completes, according to an internal staff memo reported by CNBC Business (https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/05/cbs-sports-head-david-berson-takes-over-skydance-global-sports-group.html).
Silberwasser notified his division on Monday that leadership will consolidate under CBS Sports president and chief executive David Berson, who will head a newly formed global sports group.
"I am writing to let you know that, with the closing of the Paramount–WBD merger, I will be departing the company as TNT Sports and CBS Sports come together under new leadership," Silberwasser wrote in the memo.
Under the reorganized corporate structure, Berson will oversee all broadcast networks, digital distribution platforms, and international territories across the combined CBS Sports, TNT Sports, and WBD Sports brands. Skydance is expected to issue a formal announcement regarding the appointment in the coming days.
The corporate merger, which is scheduled to close on Oct. 6, 2026, unites an extensive roster of broadcast properties under the Skydance corporate name. The combined sports portfolio includes NFL Sunday afternoon broadcasts, full tournament coverage for NCAA March Madness, college football, the NHL, NASCAR, the French Open, and The Masters.
