Anthropic has extended a temporary promotion that grants select subscribers a 50% increase in their weekly usage limits for Claude Code through August 19, 2026, according to a support documentation update first reported by Hacker News. The temporary cap expansion originally took effect on May 13, 2026, and was slated to end earlier before the company pushed back the expiration date.

The temporary allotment surge applies to paid tier members across several account levels, including Pro, Max, and Team tiers, alongside enterprise customers utilizing legacy seat-based subscription models. Conversely, free tier accounts and enterprise users operating on consumption-based pricing models are excluded from the promotional boost.

Under the terms of the program, eligible users receive a 50% higher weekly quota for interacting with Claude Code across all supported deployment environments. These surfaces encompass the command-line interface (CLI), integrated development environment (IDE) extensions, desktop applications, and web interfaces.

Anthropic clarified that short-term consumption constraints remain unchanged during this period. The separate 5-hour rolling usage ceilings enforced by the system continue to function under standard parameters regardless of the expanded weekly allowance.

The developer noted that account holders do not need to perform manual updates or modify account settings to access the elevated limits. For eligible accounts, the expanded caps are configured automatically, and CLI users can verify their current quota status by executing the designated /usage command within their environment.

Usage thresholds for Anthropic's other product offerings remain strictly unaffected by the Claude Code program. Standard quotas continue to govern interactions across the general Claude web, desktop, and mobile applications, as well as the Claude Cowork collaboration tool.

Once the promotion concludes on August 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT, weekly usage allowances for Claude Code will automatically revert to their baseline levels. The reduction back to standard quotas represents a baseline adjustment, while customer billing schedules and subscription pricing tiers will remain completely unaffected by the transition.
