Aston Martin Keeps AI Agents on the Back End and Off Its Website
The luxury automaker is applying Infor’s AI tooling to enterprise workflows like pricing while preserving direct human touchpoints for car buyers.

Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. is focusing its artificial intelligence deployments strictly on internal operational processes rather than public-facing digital interfaces, according to executive remarks reported by SiliconANGLE (https://siliconangle.com/2026/10/07/aston-martin-puts-back-end-ai-work-inforvelocity/). The luxury automaker is utilizing enterprise software provider Infor LLC's CloudSuite Automotive tools to modernize operational workflows while deliberately keeping automated agents off its consumer channels.
Speaking during Infor Velocity Week on SiliconANGLE’s livestreaming studio theCUBE, Aston Martin Chief Information Officer Steve O’Connor outlined the company’s enterprise roadmap. O'Connor noted that receiving new features and continuous updates directly through cloud software represents a significant shift from traditional enterprise resource planning systems, which historically required lengthy transformational overhauls.
While Aston Martin evaluates internal use cases such as configure-price-quote systems, the manufacturer maintains a strict rule against deploying AI agents to customer-facing channels. O'Connor emphasized that buyers purchasing handcrafted, highly customized vehicles expect human engagement rather than digital bots, characterizing the automaker's strategy as being deliberate adopters who prioritize measurable profit-and-loss impact and operational efficiency over hype.
The automaker’s disciplined rollout mirrors broader industry hurdles in scaling enterprise automation. Infor research indicates that more than half of businesses struggle to scale AI initiatives. To streamline implementations, Infor’s AI Adoption Hub synthesizes public filings, meeting transcripts, and operational bottlenecks into structured roadmaps, reducing use-case development timelines from months down to two or three weeks, according to Max Fisher, Infor's director of product management.
To maintain long-term returns after deployment, Aston Martin assigns a specific internal business owner to oversee each AI agent's operational outcomes. O'Connor also advised enterprise leaders to clean up underlying data architectures and core business processes before layering automated intelligence on top of enterprise software.
