Enterprise software provider Infor Inc. is targeting industry-specific workflows as the foundation for enterprise adoption of agentic artificial intelligence, pairing domain-tailored software agents with process intelligence to move corporate deployments past experimental copilots, according to reporting by SiliconANGLE (https://siliconangle.com/2026/10/05/agentic-ai-infor-velocity-week-inforvelocity/).

As agentic AI shifts into operational software environments, enterprise governance requirements are pivoting from basic activity tracking to rigorous permission modeling. Paul Nashawaty, principal analyst at theCUBE Research, noted that organizations must increasingly verify what an automated agent was authorized to do, why it was granted permission to act, and whether that authority remained valid as complex tasks transitioned across multiple systems and agents.

Infor has built its artificial intelligence roadmap around domain specialization. In April, the company expanded its Industry AI Agent library to more than 100 domain-specific agents while updating its Agentic Orchestrator tool to coordinate multistep software actions across enterprise applications. The approach focuses on vertical sectors with specialized operational rules and process requirements, including manufacturing, distribution, automotive, and food and beverage.

Infor Chief Executive Officer Kevin Samuelson stated when introducing Velocity Suite capabilities that the company's multi-tenant architecture, industry platforms, and process intelligence provide contextual precision that generic foundation models cannot deliver on their own, designed to deliver measurable business outcomes.

To operationalize the software, Infor is linking its process mining capabilities, Value+ automations, generative AI models, and Industry AI Agents to identify workflow bottlenecks and hand routine execution to automated systems.

Widespread operational deployment remains limited across the sector. Data from Infor's Enterprise AI Adoption Impact Index revealed that 49% of surveyed organizations remain in early deployment phases, citing concerns around security, data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, technical skills shortages, and uncertain return on investment as key impediments.

The governance, process automation, and operational integration requirements for agentic AI across vertical industries will form the core focus of Infor's Velocity Week on Oct. 7, with live coverage broadcast by SiliconANGLE Media's theCUBE.
