Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang projected that the semiconductor giant will double its overall unit volume of chip sales in the coming year, signaling sustained demand driven by global artificial intelligence infrastructure deployment. Speaking to media during a technology summit in Scotland hosted by King Charles III, Huang highlighted that international investment in AI across various business sectors and national economies is accelerating the company's shipment trajectory.

The forecast builds on Nvidia’s recent forward-looking financial disclosures, which included a projected 70 percent revenue increase for its fiscal year ending in January 2028, reaching approximately $673 billion. That earlier guidance, as first reported by CNBC Business, prompted financial analysts to significantly raise their earnings estimates while pointing toward an extended six-quarter stretch of substantial corporate growth.

"I expect Nvidia to sell twice as many chips as this next year as we do this year," Huang told reporters at the event. "The reason for that is because AI has, has so much contribution to the benefits of different industries, different economies, and you can see that in almost every single country that we're in, people want to invest in AI."

While Nvidia does not publicly report the cumulative number of silicon units it ships annually, its high-performance data center graphics processing units remain the core driver of enterprise hardware budgets. Huang noted last fall that the company had delivered 6 million of its flagship Blackwell GPUs across four quarters, with market interest now turning toward its upcoming Rubin chip architecture.

Beyond enterprise AI accelerators, Nvidia produces a broad range of hardware components. Its product lines encompass central processing units, network switch silicon, optical networking processors, laptop processors, Jetson modules designed for robotics and automotive applications, and the custom system-on-chip that powers Nintendo's Switch 2 gaming console.

The summit in Scotland brought together leading executives and researchers across the artificial intelligence sector, featuring representatives from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind alongside Nvidia. Attendees gathered primarily to address international frameworks regarding AI governance, technical safety mechanisms, and systemic risks.

The ongoing discourse around technical safeguards follows warnings from several AI researchers that rapidly advancing frontier models could eventually challenge direct human management and control if deployed without sufficient precautions.

Addressing the balance between product deployment and safety engineering during his remarks, Huang advocated for strict development standards. "When a product is not safe, we should hold it back and keep engineering it," Huang said, echoing his recent public statements calling for rigorous evaluation before frontier systems enter commercial markets.
