Nvidia has formed a strategic alliance with infrastructure startup Cloverleaf Infrastructure to accelerate the deployment of power resources and digital facilities required for artificial intelligence data centers across the United States. Under the agreement, the semiconductor giant is acquiring a minority equity interest in Cloverleaf, as first reported by Yahoo Finance.

Established in 2024, Cloverleaf operates as an intermediary connecting power utility providers with data center operators seeking to secure reliable electricity supplies for heavy computing workloads. The startup, which secured $300 million in funding during its inaugural year, maintains a pipeline of artificial intelligence site developments and has previously delivered several gigawatt-scale projects across North America.

The partnership reflects Nvidia's expanding strategy of directly investing in the physical structures and power systems that host its hardware installations. Earlier this month, the company pledged $1.5 billion to SB Energy to support the PORTS-Pike campus, a 10-gigawatt data center facility located in Pike County, Ohio, tied to OpenAI.

"AI is becoming infrastructure—the foundation for intelligence in every industry—and land, power and shell have become vital in the age of AI," Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated regarding the SB Energy arrangement. "Now is the time to scale the AI infrastructure that will power the next industrial revolution. We are securing long-lived infrastructure for NVIDIA compute so OpenAI can deploy the most productive AI factories that can be upgraded repeatedly with each new generation delivering more intelligence and better economics."

Through the strategic collaboration, Cloverleaf plans to integrate the Nvidia DSX Platform into its early-stage design processes. This software and infrastructure framework allows developers to simultaneously assess power constraints, cooling requirements, land availability, and computing architecture before construction begins, while also optimizing energy usage at operational facilities.

"AI is accelerating demand for digital infrastructure at an unprecedented scale and driving strong economic development opportunities for American communities," said David Berry, co-founder and chief executive officer of Cloverleaf. "This partnership strengthens Cloverleaf's ability to identify and develop high-quality sites that provide the compute power for our country's growth and security. Together, we will help America's businesses and workers gain a critical edge."

Nico Caprez, vice president of Global AI Infrastructure Growth at Nvidia, noted that securing power and land remains foundational to building out next-generation computing sites. "AI factories are the infrastructure of the intelligence age, and land, power and shell are their foundation," Caprez said. "Cloverleaf brings deep expertise in power and site development to create exceptional, long-lived sites for generations of accelerated computing. Together, we are accelerating the build out of AI infrastructure that will strengthen America's energy infrastructure and power the next wave of innovation."

Financial terms of the transaction were not officially released by either company. However, additional reporting by the Wall Street Journal indicated that Nvidia's equity commitment could reach up to several hundred million dollars. In structuring the deal, Cloverleaf retained J.P. Morgan Securities LLC as its exclusive financial advisor and Kirkland & Ellis LLP as legal counsel.

Nvidia executive John Josephakis, global vice president of high-performance computing, AI, and supercomputing, is also scheduled to discuss federal energy integration at the Experience POWER conference set for September 28–30, 2026, in Washington, D.C., alongside the Data Center POWER eXchange event.
