Salesforce and Anthropic Launch 'Claudeforce' Integration to Embed CRM in Claude

Salesforce and Anthropic announced an expansion of their enterprise partnership on Tuesday, unveiling a joint initiative named Claudeforce that embeds customer relationship management tools directly into Anthropic's Claude conversational interface.

The central feature of the announcement, titled Salesforce in Claude, functions as a plugin for Anthropic's Claude CoWork product. The initial release features 37 pre-configured sales capabilities—including pipeline assessment, meeting preparation, and deal health checks—that allow employees to interact with and edit live CRM data without launching standard Salesforce applications.

The plugin is currently accessible to a limited group of pilot clients. Salesforce plans to release an open beta version in September, followed by additional workflow capabilities for non-sales business units starting in the third quarter.

The news arrived ahead of Salesforce's quarterly financial results, with Salesforce Chair and CEO Marc Benioff and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei scheduling a joint media appearance on Tuesday afternoon. "We're bringing together the world's #1 AI and #1 CRM — the best of both worlds," Benioff said in a statement, emphasizing that "the UI is the AI — allowing you to build custom apps dynamically and answer any enterprise question."

Salesforce President of Applications and Marketing Patrick Stokes outlined the strategy in an interview with VentureBeat AI, which first reported the details of the release. Stokes described the platform integration as a structural shift in how corporate employees interact with enterprise software applications.

"We think that what this can do is kind of be a version of what Claude Code did for developers," Stokes told VentureBeat AI. "We think we're about to do the same thing for knowledge workers. This is just a whole new way to work."
