SpaceX Chief Executive Elon Musk has moved up the company's long-term financial timeline, pulling forward its objective to achieve $1 trillion in annual revenue to 2030, according to analysis reported by Yahoo Finance. The revised forecast accelerates the chief executive's previous target of 2031, which was outlined prior to the aerospace firm's public listing on June 12.

Hitting the 13-figure revenue milestone would require an unprecedented financial trajectory for a corporation of SpaceX's scale. Based on its projected 2025 revenue of $18.67 billion, the company must sustain a 121.7% compound annual growth rate over the five-year period to achieve Musk's revised goal.

The company's satellite broadband unit, Starlink, currently generates the largest portion of sales and serves as the sole profitable segment within the enterprise. In 2025, Starlink recorded $11.4 billion in revenue, representing 61% of SpaceX's total sales. With a subscriber base surpassing 13 million, the division plans to build out its satellite array to challenge traditional telecom operators like AT&T and Verizon while providing connectivity to self-driving vehicles, robotic systems, and autonomous software agents.

The launch infrastructure division, which operates the established Falcon fleet and the developing Starship vehicle, brought in $4.1 billion in 2025, accounting for 22% of corporate revenue. SpaceX plans to leverage Starship to secure additional government contracts, deploy its next-generation V3 Starlink satellites featuring 100-fold bandwidth increases, and place solar-powered data centers directly into orbit.

SpaceX's artificial intelligence division generated $3.2 billion in 2025, comprising the remaining 17% of overall revenue. That business, which encompasses assets including X and the Grok model, plans to bring between 15 and 20 gigawatts of power capacity online for AI data processing by late 2027 or early 2028. The company also intends to deepen integration of tools developed by xAI, such as Grok and Cursor, into its cloud infrastructure.

Wall Street consensus remains significantly more cautious than Musk's internal projections. Industry analysts estimate that SpaceX's total annual revenue will reach $184.5 billion by 2028, representing a roughly tenfold expansion from 2025 levels but falling well short of the trajectory needed to cross $1 trillion by decade's end.

Achieving the accelerated target will require SpaceX to navigate rising competition across all three of its primary operating sectors. In satellite communications, AST SpaceMobile is expanding its orbital network in partnership with major wireless carriers, while Amazon advances its own orbital internet constellation tied to AWS cloud services. Concurrently, Rocket Lab continues to expand its reusable rocket operations, challenging SpaceX in commercial launch services alongside broader supply chain and macroeconomic risks.
