Apple Plans Touchscreen MacBook Pro and Refreshed iPad Mini for Late October, Report Says
A rumored event on or around October 27 would debut touch-enabled Mac hardware alongside an updated compact tablet.

Apple is preparing to introduce a new MacBook Pro featuring a touchscreen alongside an updated iPad Mini "on or around" October 27, according to reporting from Bloomberg covered by The Verge (https://www.theverge.com/tech/1008422/apple-macbook-pro-touchscreen-ipad-mini-rumor). The timing would place the presentation two weeks after a separate October 13 event announced today, which is rumored to focus on smart home hardware.
The late-October event is expected to feature an online video presentation paired with an in-person component for press, matching the format planned for the mid-October briefing.
According to the report, the new touchscreen MacBook Pros will be lighter than existing models and incorporate OLED displays along with an iPhone-style Dynamic Island interface. Apple is also reportedly preparing standard MacBook Pros that maintain the existing chassis design while upgrading to the M6 processor introduced with the new Mac Mini.
The presentation is also slated to include the first hardware revision for the iPad Mini since 2024. The updated tablet will relocate its front-facing camera to the landscape edge of the frame and add a redesigned speaker system.
Apple has not publicly announced the late-October event or confirmed hardware specifications for the upcoming lineup.
