Envoy Introduces Response Platform for Enhanced Threat Intelligence and Incident Management

Envoy Inc. today announced the release of Response, a new platform designed to centralize threat intelligence and incident management for businesses. This solution aims to correlate intelligence records with the physical presence of individuals within a workspace, enabling organizations to identify potential threats, manage incidents effectively, facilitate communication during crises, and prepare for audits.

Founded in 2013 by Larry Gadea, a former engineer at Google LLC and Twitter (now X Corp.), Envoy initially developed a unified workplace management platform. This platform manages visitor check-ins, facility bookings, delivery services, and workplace safety notifications, while providing real-time occupancy and compliance data within a single system.

As organizations increasingly adopt hybrid work models and shared office spaces, the limitations of basic desk booking systems become apparent. There is a growing demand for advanced systems that can accurately track who is on-site, their locations, and their authorization levels. In highly regulated industries and secure environments, this shift is driven not merely by convenience but by critical requirements for compliance, rapid incident response, and the need for auditable, real-time visibility of personnel.

Response enhances Envoy’s existing capabilities through the integration of artificial intelligence. This AI is engineered to analyze, correlate, and prioritize incoming threat signals as they emerge. This functionality allows security teams to respond swiftly to pertinent risks and minimize false positives, contrasting with the previous manual monitoring methods that were prone to oversights.

The company stated that Response can process various data inputs, including weather reports, crime feeds, public transit system updates, government advisories, and internal tools, to determine the urgency of different signals. This information is then displayed on a global threat dashboard, providing relevant, curated insights to security teams across all worldwide locations.

Gadea noted the historically manual nature of physical security, which often led to high false positive rates and a suboptimal experience. He highlighted that manual detection processes were slow and generally accessible only to a limited number of workplaces or very senior executives. Gadea emphasized that Envoy's design seeks to provide comprehensive safety and security solutions for all enterprise personnel, including office employees, remote workers, and those traveling, asserting that “Everyone should be a VIP.”

A 2026 survey conducted by Envoy, which polled 1,000 employees in the United States, revealed significant concerns regarding workplace safety. Seventy-four percent of respondents reported avoiding work due to hazardous conditions, and 56% expressed feelings of unsafety while at work. More than half, 53%, indicated they felt unsafe during their commute, with approximately 75% experiencing events that impacted their ability to perform their job. Notably, 27% had to be sent home or instructed to work remotely as a safety measure.

Response addresses a critical gap by integrating security systems with onboarding processes. Envoy’s existing platform already maintains a record of everyone within a building, including employees, visitors, and contractors. This comprehensive data visibility is crucial, as traditional systems often fail to account for delivery personnel, temporary visitors, and others who might otherwise remain unrecorded. Envoy makes these individuals visible by linking them to presence signals, identifying who is on-site, which spaces are occupied, and who is working remotely or traveling, thereby allowing security teams to identify individuals potentially at risk.

Upon threat detection, the threat dashboard empowers security leaders to act decisively. It enables the distribution of multi-channel alerts, identification of on-site personnel including workers, contractors, and visitors, activation of safety protocols, facilitation of two-way communication, and coordination of mustering. This comprehensive functionality is supported by real-time data that ensures continuous occupancy monitoring for all individuals in shared spaces, both indoors and outdoors, maintaining a tamper-proof record for enhanced visibility.
