European automakers showcased a range of small electric vehicle concepts and production-bound models at the Paris Auto Show, signalling a refreshed focus on compact urban mobility and efficient vehicle design, according to a report by Ars Technica . The media day highlighted efforts by major automotive groups to expand electrification into lower price tiers and specialized vehicle segments.

Stellantis subsidiary Citroën unveiled its 2 CV Concept, a lightweight electric vehicle designed with an emphasis on affordability and utility. Citroën stated plans to build a production version of the 2 CV within the next two years with a starting price of 15,000 euros (approximately $16,766). The model features a stripped-back dashboard layout with an eight-inch touchscreen displaying artwork by Belgian comic artist Jean-Luc Duvall, along with a removable portable radio.

Volkswagen Group presented additions to its electric subcompact lineup, including concepts for the ID. Polo and the ID. Cross crossover. The vehicle platform also underpins sibling models from other group brands, including the Cupra Raval and Škoda Epiq. Volkswagen Group reported that combined orders across its new Electric Urban Car Family have already exceeded 150,000 units.

Audi introduced the A2 e-tron concept, an electric prototype focused on aerodynamic efficiency. Audi reported an energy consumption rating for the model of 4.9 miles per kilowatt-hour, or 12.8 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers under WLTP testing standards.

Peugeot displayed the E-T16 Concept, a high-performance electric hatchback inspired by the 205 T16 Group B rally homologation model that won World Rally Championship titles in 1985 and 1986.

Fiat debuted the Multiplay concept, a modular electric vehicle designed to convert from a three-row passenger carrier into a utility pickup. The interior features adaptable seating, including a front passenger chair that converts into a lounger, as well as a modular mounting platform called the "Petsenger" to secure pet beds, child seats, tables, or storage bins.

Renault presented its E-Space Concept, an all-electric prototype that updates the traditional single-box minivan form factor with 23-inch wheels positioned at the outer corners of the vehicle.
