Panasonic Launches Sub-1kg Let's Note SC7 Laptop Powered by Intel Core Ultra Architecture

Panasonic has unveiled its latest ultra-lightweight business notebook, the Let's Note SC7, targeting enterprise professionals seeking extreme portability alongside on-device artificial intelligence capabilities. The device features a 12.4-inch display structured around a 3:2 aspect ratio, offering greater vertical screen real estate compared to conventional widescreen displays. This taller profile is intended to reduce scrolling demands when managing complex spreadsheets, editing long text documents, or navigating web pages. Below the keyboard, Panasonic retained its signature circular trackpad, allowing users to scroll through documents by tracing a finger along the outer rim of the input wheel.

At the center of the notebook's internal architecture is an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor, integrated with a neural processing unit capable of delivering 47 trillion operations per second (TOPS). The NPU performance meets the baseline requirements for Microsoft's Copilot+ PC program, facilitating local and cloud-based AI computation. Base configurations are outfitted with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB solid-state drive, while higher-tier variants offer up to 32GB or 64GB of RAM alongside 1TB or 2TB of internal storage.

Thermal management in the SC7 is driven by Panasonic’s proprietary MaxPerformer system, which balances heat dissipation and power consumption to sustain peak processor output. Benchmark evaluations cited in the report showed the machine scoring 2,354 points in single-core tests and 10,437 points in multi-core performance on Geekbench 7, while PCMark 10 testing indicated sustained performance under benchmark loads.

Despite its sub-kilogram weight, the laptop features a ruggedized chassis constructed from magnesium alloy with internal structural ribbing, measuring 273.2 mm by 208.9 mm with a thickness of 19.9 mm. Panasonic subjected the frame to internal physical durability evaluations, including 26-direction drop tests from heights of 30 centimeters and 76 centimeters, as well as a 100 kgf pressure vibration test. The unit also met the United States Department of Defense's MIL-STD-810H durability standard.

Power is supplied by a removable 56Wh battery secured to the base with two screws rather than a latch mechanism. Under Japanese JEITA 3.0 measurement criteria, the power cell is rated for up to 17.7 hours of continuous video playback and up to 32.4 hours of idle operation. In workflow simulations using PCMark 10’s Modern Office battery test profile, the laptop recorded a runtime of 22 hours and 59 minutes. Charging via the included 65W USB Power Delivery adapter restores the battery to approximately 46% capacity within 30 minutes.

The SC7 offers expansion options including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, an HDMI output, a Gigabit Ethernet port, Wi-Fi 7 wireless networking, and Bluetooth 5.4 support. Security features encompass infrared facial recognition alongside a fingerprint reader embedded directly into the power button.
