Samsung Unveils 2027 Odyssey Monitor Lineup Featuring 1,100Hz Display

Samsung Electronics unveiled its upcoming 2027 Odyssey gaming display lineup during the Gamescom trade event, introducing four new monitor configurations designed to deliver high refresh rates and variable resolution capabilities, as first reported by Mashable Tech.

The product family includes high-performance displays tailored for competitive gaming, cinematic viewing, and multi-purpose workstations. The core features across the hardware lineup focus on new display panel technologies and adaptive resolution modes that allow users to adjust image sharpness against screen motion speed.

"With new form factors, higher refresh rates, and advanced display technologies, the 2027 Odyssey lineup gives players more choice across competitive play, cinematic games, and multi-purpose setups," said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, in a statement.

Leading the hardware announcement is the 27-inch Odyssey G6, which Samsung claims as the world's first 1,100Hz gaming display. Built with a fast IPS panel offering a 1-millisecond response time, the G6 incorporates a Dual Mode feature that allows operators to switch between HD resolution at up to 1,100Hz and QHD resolution at up to 600Hz.

For wider view configurations, Samsung showcased the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9. The display features a Dual QHD resolution, a native 360Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03-millisecond response time. Through its integrated Dual Mode function, users can lower the output resolution to Dual HD to increase the refresh rate to 720Hz.

The lineup also incorporates the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8, a 4K resolution display equipped with a Triple Mode system. This setting permits hardware switching between UHD output at 360Hz, QHD at 520Hz, and Full HD at 680Hz depending on visual workload requirements.

Rounding out the release is the 42-inch Odyssey OLED G7, which the manufacturer describes as the world's first 42-inch 16:9 curved OLED gaming monitor. The device features a 1000R curvature designed to match human peripheral visual lines, along with 4K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate.

Samsung has not yet announced pricing details or specific release dates for the three OLED displays in the lineup. However, the company confirmed that the 1,100Hz Odyssey G6 is scheduled for a worldwide commercial launch during the second half of 2026.
