CHUWI Debuts UniBox AI495 Pro Mini PC Packed With 192GB RAM for Local AI Workloads
Unveiled at IFA Berlin 2026, the compact workstation pairs AMD's Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 processor with memory capacity matching Apple's top-tier workstations.

Hardware maker CHUWI has officially introduced the UniBox AI495 Pro at the IFA Berlin 2026 trade show, revealing a compact desktop PC engineered specifically to handle memory-intensive artificial intelligence tasks. Built around AMD's recently released Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 processor, the mini workstation supports up to 192GB of LPDDR5x unified memory. That memory capacity equals the ceiling offered on Apple's high-end professional workstations, positioning the small-form-factor desktop as a portable option for developers seeking to run large neural networks without relying on cloud infrastructure.
At the heart of the UniBox AI495 Pro is AMD’s Zen 5-based silicon, featuring 16 compute cores and 32 threads capable of reaching maximum boost clock speeds of 5.2 GHz. The processor is combined with an integrated Radeon 8065S graphics unit housing 40 execution cores based on AMD's RDNA 3.5 architecture, operating at clock frequencies of up to 3,000 MHz. The system's memory subsystem relies on a 256-bit wide memory interface delivering up to 273 GB/s of bandwidth. Crucially for AI workflows, the hardware allows users to designate up to 160GB of the system's unified memory pool directly to video memory, giving the integrated GPU access to far greater capacity than standard dedicated desktop video cards typically offer.
This memory allocation strategy significantly expands the desktop's ability to process demanding artificial intelligence workloads locally. According to CHUWI, the UniBox AI495 Pro is capable of executing large language models containing as many as 300 billion parameters directly on the machine when using 4-bit quantization techniques. Across the entire hardware platform, the system generates up to 131 tera operations per second (TOPS) of AI compute performance. Of that platform total, the embedded AMD XDNA 2 neural processing unit (NPU) contributes up to 55 TOPS dedicated specifically to accelerating machine learning inference tasks.
The system packs these hardware specifications into a compact enclosure measuring 209.6 mm by 209.6 mm by 67 mm, occupying a physical volume of approximately 2.9 liters. The chassis features an X Frame aesthetic design that draws visual comparisons to the cylindrical Mac Pro desktops previously produced by Apple. On the storage and networking front, the desktop includes three M.2 2280 PCIe x4 expansion slots accommodating up to 2TB of solid-state storage. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and two high-speed 10Gbps Ethernet jacks. External peripheral connectivity is handled by two 40Gbps USB4 ports alongside an OCuLink interface for external hardware attachments. The system is driven by an external 240W power supply and ships pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro.
While CHUWI has not yet revealed official retail pricing or availability dates for the UniBox AI495 Pro, the announcement places the company inside a rapidly expanding category of high-capacity mini PCs targeting edge AI compute. As first reported by TechRadar Pro, rival hardware builders including Acemagic, GMKtek, and Framework have announced competing mini PC designs utilizing the identical AMD processor and 192GB memory configuration. Although final figures remain unconfirmed, hardware industry analysts expect systems in this tier to carry retail price tags exceeding $2,000 upon launch.
Alongside its flagship model, CHUWI is also readying a slightly trimmed-down variant called the UniBox AI395. This model is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 processor, which retains a 16-core, 32-thread architecture while topping out at a slightly reduced maximum boost clock of 5.1 GHz. Graphics duties on the AI395 are handled by an integrated Radeon 8060S GPU containing 40 RDNA 3.5 graphics cores operating at frequencies up to 2,900 MHz. The AI395 supports up to 128GB of LPDDR5x memory over a 256-bit memory bus providing 256 GB/s of bandwidth, with up to 96GB configurable as graphics memory.
The lower-tier UniBox AI395 is designed to run localized AI models with up to 235 billion parameters using reduced-precision low-bit model formats. In terms of compute output, the AI395 delivers up to 126 TOPS of total platform performance, including up to 50 TOPS derived from its onboard neural processing unit. Both the AI495 Pro and the AI395 share identical physical chassis dimensions, the same 240W power delivery system, 2TB maximum internal storage ceiling, dual 10Gbps Ethernet networking capabilities, and Windows 11 Pro operating system support.
