Vocci Launches $249 Smart Ring for AI Meeting Transcriptions

Priced at $249, the device enters a market already populated by recording pendants, pins, and card-sized accessories.
Weighing under six grams, the ring features titanium inner and outer surfaces and includes a physical button, an inward-facing status LED, and a haptic feedback motor. Users double-tap the button to start or stop recording. Tapping and holding the button queries Vocci's AI assistant, though that function requires the companion smartphone application to remain open.
Vocci claims the ring provides up to eight hours of continuous recording on a single charge. The device comes with a plastic charging case capable of delivering up to three complete recharges. In hands-on testing by TechCrunch AI, the ring produced accurate transcripts during conversations exceeding an hour in noisy environments like cafes, though AI summaries generated for brief voice memos were occasionally longer than the underlying notes.
The companion app organizes audio into three sections: full transcripts, highlight snippets captured by pressing the button during a meeting, and AI-generated summary notes. A separate Base tab aggregates recordings and transcripts. While Vocci recently added support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect external assistants, the software currently lacks direct integration with standard smartphone reminder applications.
At $249, Vocci's ring is priced higher than competing recording devices like Plaud or Pocket, reflecting the engineering required to house microphones, a battery, and wireless connectivity in a ring. The discrete form factor also introduces privacy considerations: because the recording light faces the wearer and the ring resembles ordinary jewelry, conversation partners may not realize they are being recorded. Vocci stated that it encourages users to disclose active recordings.
