Ozlo Launches Sleepbuds 2 With Longer Battery Life and Improved Connectivity

Ozlo has introduced Sleepbuds 2, the first major update to the overnight earbuds created by former Bose engineers. The new model costs $279 and addresses two common complaints about the original product: battery duration and Bluetooth reliability.

The earbuds now promise 14 hours of use, up from about 10, while the charging case stores enough energy for two or three nights. A button on the case can start a sleep sound or snooze an alarm without requiring the user to open a phone.

Ozlo redesigned the antenna and extender to improve pairing, range and connection stability. A built-in amplifier supports stronger sound masking, and personalized tuning includes modes for spoken audio, flights, focus and balanced listening. Sleep Shield can block calls, alerts and Bluetooth streaming during the night.

Sensors in the earbuds monitor movement and breathing, while the case measures room sound, light and temperature. Ozlo uses that information to help users understand which environments correlate with better sleep. The company has more than 200,000 customers and is developing broader analysis features, including an AI sleep assistant.

Sleep tracking from earbuds and a bedside case is not equivalent to a clinical sleep study. Ozlo should frame insights as consumer guidance and validate any stronger health claims before making them. Users may change behavior based on correlations that reflect noise, illness or an unusual night rather than a reliable pattern.

Ozlo is entering a category Bose abandoned despite strong interest from users, which suggests both demand and operational difficulty. A sleep earbud must remain comfortable for hours, maintain a stable connection and provide support when batteries degrade. The company can benefit from the founders' experience, but it still has to build manufacturing and customer service outside Bose. Sleepbuds 2 will be judged over months rather than a review night. Returns, replacement policies and long-term software support may matter as much as audio quality for a device intended to become part of a nightly routine.

The founders acquired and licensed technology from Bose after it left the category, giving Ozlo a product lineage and an experienced team. Sleepbuds 2 must now prove the update is more than incremental. Overnight hardware needs comfort, stable connectivity and trustworthy health interpretation. A feature that fails at 3 a.m. is more disruptive than one that fails during ordinary listening.
