Microsoft has introduced Mythic Achievements for Xbox, establishing a dedicated milestone badge for players who complete every base achievement in a game. As reported by Engadget (https://www.engadget.com/2272478/xbox-mythic-achievements-are-here/), the tier gives Xbox an official equivalent to Sony's long-running PlayStation platinum trophy system.

Under the new system, a Mythic Achievement is awarded once a player completes all original achievements tied to a game's base release. Microsoft confirmed that achievements introduced later through downloadable content or post-launch updates will not revoke the badge once earned.

The feature applies retroactively to past gameplay, extending through historical records back to Xbox 360 titles. "The next time you visit your profile, you may discover that some of your favorite games have already reached Mythic status," Xbox senior product manager Alex Charters wrote in a blog post announcing the rollout.

Player milestones will appear in a redesigned Gaming tab on Xbox profiles, showcasing unlocked Mythic Achievements inside a "heroic frame." The interface also adds a progress bar over individual achievement lists to track progress toward completion and allows friends to inspect one another's completed titles.

The rollout follows an earlier preview from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma and is currently limited to participants in the free Xbox Insider preview program ahead of wider public availability.
