Superhuman Opens Seattle Office in South Lake Union as AI Vendors Expand Regional Hiring
The productivity software maker formerly known as Grammarly moves into a 13,501-square-foot space at 1000 Dexter Ave. N. to build out data and engineering teams.

Superhuman, the San Francisco-based productivity software maker formerly known as Grammarly, opened a 13,501-square-foot office in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood on Tuesday, moving out of local coworking space to accommodate regional hiring.
The facility, located at 1000 Dexter Ave. N., is opening with 50 workstations and capacity for up to 80 employees, a company representative told GeekWire.
The company is recruiting in Seattle for data engineering, data governance, and data science positions. Its careers portal lists 12 open roles that can be based in the city, including positions in software engineering, site reliability, and product management.
The move follows a broader migration of out-of-region artificial intelligence companies expanding their engineering presence across the Puget Sound area, including OpenAI in Bellevue and Anthropic in Seattle, as reported by GeekWire (https://www.geekwire.com/2026/superhuman-opens-new-seattle-office-joining-wave-of-ai-companies-expanding-in-the-region/).
The current corporate entity took shape after automated writing platform Grammarly acquired the email client Superhuman in July 2025 and rebranded the combined company under the Superhuman name that October. The company is led by Chief Executive Officer Shishir Mehrotra, a former Microsoft and YouTube executive who co-founded workspace startup Coda.
Superhuman's product lineup includes the Superhuman Go assistant, Mail, Docs, and the legacy Grammarly writing assistant. The firm has expanded its footprint through deals this year for meeting notetaker Fathom and AI detection startup GPTZero.
According to the company, the Seattle location operates under its 'Ways of Working' hybrid policy, which replaced a return-to-office mandate in January. U.S. staff choose between two and five days in the office weekly, receiving quarterly wellness stipends ranging from $500 to $2,000 tied to attendance frequency, as previously reported by Entrepreneur.
