Apple's $250M Siri AI Settlement Hearing Rescheduled for February 2027

Apple smartphone owners expecting class-action payout checks over delayed Siri artificial intelligence features face a multi-year wait before receiving any cash, despite recent adjustments to the judicial calendar. An updated legal filing indicates that the final court approval hearing for the proposed settlement has been rescheduled for early 2027.

According to court documentation first reported by Mashable Tech, the final approval hearing is now scheduled for Feb. 24, 2027. While the revised date advances legal proceedings by seven months from the previously set Sept. 29, 2027 court date, actual distribution of funds will still require several additional months following the hearing to resolve any judicial appeals and process eligible consumer claims.

The class-action dispute originated in 2024 after Apple heavily promoted its Apple Intelligence suite, featuring a redesigned, personalized version of its Siri voice assistant. When Apple subsequently delayed those core Siri capabilities, consumers filed multiple lawsuits alleging the tech giant used unreleased features as a primary selling point to drive iPhone sales. The separate complaints were later combined into a single federal class action.

To resolve the litigation without admitting liability or wrongdoing, Apple agreed to establish a $250 million settlement fund in May 2026. Under the terms of the agreement, qualified class members are projected to receive payments ranging between approximately $25 and $95 per person, though exact distribution amounts may shift depending on total claims submitted and administrative expenses.

Qualification for the cash settlement requires consumers to have purchased specific iPhone models during a designated purchase window. Eligible devices include the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max purchased between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025.

The official administrative portal for submitting claims has not yet launched, meaning eligible consumers do not need to take immediate action. Representatives managing the class action plan to send filing instructions directly via email or postal mail once the claims window officially opens.

Apple officially unveiled the revamped Siri AI features at its Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this year, and the software is currently in developer testing within iOS 27 betas. The company has stated that a broader public beta release will arrive later this year, bringing an end to product delays that ultimately resulted in a quarter-billion-dollar legal payout.
