Google has detailed 42 bug fixes and software updates across its Google Home app, Gemini AI voice controls, and smart home hardware, according to release notes reported by ZDNET (https://www.zdnet.com/home-and-office/google-home-gemini-updates-42-fixes/).

The update package spans early access features for Gemini for Home along with software improvements for Nest cameras, connected doorbells, Nest Wi-Fi, Google TV Streamers, and mobile interface controls.

Gemini for Home received updates designed to improve room awareness during multi-room audio playback, allowing users to issue voice commands such as "move the music here" to redirect audio between speakers. Google also resolved a volume control defect where commands directed at a speaker in another room were erroneously handled by a closer unit.

Additional voice and smart display fixes address inconsistent alarm and timer volumes, unprompted speaker responses, and the reliability of YouTube TV voice commands on smart displays.

In the Google Home mobile app, Google resolved an iOS bug that triggered a "Video Not Available" error when scrubbing to the end of recorded camera events, as well as an Android issue that caused live camera feeds to fail when opening or closing foldable devices.

The release continues Google's migration of legacy hardware into the main Google Home app as it phases out the standalone Nest app. Updated devices include the first-generation Nest Cam, first-generation Nest Cam Outdoor, first-generation wired Nest Doorbell (formerly Nest Hello), Nest Cam IQ Indoor, and Nest Cam IQ Outdoor.

Hardware stability fixes include a patch for cameras stalling or crashing when reconnecting after brief network outages, an iOS bug that incorrectly displayed connected devices like Nest Thermostats as offline, and audio-video synchronization and Familiar Face recognition upgrades for the first-generation wired Nest Doorbell.
