Microsoft has shared new technical details for its upcoming flagship notebook, the Surface Laptop Ultra, positioning the machine as its first "builder class PC" targeted at developers and artificial intelligence researchers.

The company previously teased the system as the most powerful device it has built, according to reporting by Engadget (https://www.engadget.com/2280302/microsoft-surface-laptop-ultra-specs/) from an event in San Francisco. Microsoft framed the hardware as specialized compute rather than a general-purpose laptop for casual web browsing, gaming, or standard video editing.

The Surface Laptop Ultra is equipped with an NVIDIA RTX Spark chip and a 15-inch Mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen. The display maintains Microsoft's standard 3:2 aspect ratio and reaches peak brightness levels of up to 2,000 nits.

Input and connectivity updates include a haptic touchpad that Microsoft stated is 30 percent larger than the touchpads on its standard 15-inch Surface laptops. The notebook also features a peripheral selection comprising USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a full-size SD card reader.

Additionally, Microsoft introduced a port dubbed Magnetic Connect, designed to combine magnetic charging capability with a traditional USB-C interface.
