Nous Research Raises $90M Series B at $1.5B Valuation for Enterprise AI Agents
The startup behind the open-source Hermes agent plans to launch enterprise tools following rapid revenue growth.
Nous Research, the startup behind the open-source Hermes AI agent, has raised a $90 million Series B funding round at a $1.5 billion valuation, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal that confirmed earlier reporting from TechCrunch AI .
The funding round was led by Robot Ventures, with participation from Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung, and 1789 Capital. The financing brings the three-year-old company's total funding to $158 million.
Nous Research's open-source Hermes agent has been cloned more than 24 million times and drives roughly 2.5% of global AI token usage, according to estimates provided by the startup.
The company plans to use the new capital to launch "Hermes for Businesses," an enterprise product designed to let companies deploy customized AI agents for multi-step workflows while maintaining private and secure data handling.
The startup reached roughly $36 million in annualized revenue by mid-September 2026 and expects to exceed $100 million before the end of the year, The Wall Street Journal reported.
