JBL Unveils Pulse 6 Bluetooth Speaker Featuring 360-Degree Lighting and AI Sound Boost
The $330 portable speaker upgrades acoustic design and adds advanced light synchronization alongside Auracast audio pairing.
Audio hardware manufacturer JBL is refreshing its portable speaker lineup with the official launch of the Pulse 6. First reported by Engadget, the new device carries a retail price of $330 and is currently available for preorder ahead of its scheduled shipping date on September 6.
The flagship visual element of the Pulse 6 is its integrated 360-degree light system. Designed with a built-in handle, the physical exterior offers a modern aesthetic reminiscent of a classic lantern while housing updated illumination components inside.
The built-in light framework features 16 distinct pre-configured lighting modes. JBL divided these configurations into ten options tailored for ambient background lighting and six settings created for active party environments.
Beyond standalone operation, the device is designed to integrate into broader hardware setups. The light display can synchronize directly with compatible JBL PartyBox units as well as the brand's PartyLight Stick accessory to create expanded visual displays.
For multi-speaker audio playback, the Pulse 6 incorporates Auracast functionality. This standard allows users to stream synchronized wireless audio across multiple supported JBL devices simultaneously.
The internal audio setup features an upgraded acoustic architecture compared to earlier hardware releases. The release represents JBL's first update to the Pulse product line since the prior iteration debuted in 2022, targeting a more balanced overall sound output.
To manage signal processing, the hardware includes JBL's proprietary AI Sound Boost technology. The system employs algorithmic adjustments designed to minimize acoustic distortion while driving maximum audio output performance.
Regarding physical durability and operating endurance, the Pulse 6 provides up to 12 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. The enclosure is built to an IP68 specification, offering full protection against dust ingress and water exposure.
