Kalshi Adds Low-Volume Labels and Brier Accuracy Scores to Election Markets
With midterm elections approaching, the prediction market platform rolls out liquidity tags, accuracy metrics, and real-time trade feeds.

Prediction market platform Kalshi has launched three transparency features on its election contracts ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, according to a report by CNBC Business (https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/06/kalshi-launches-transparency-features-on-its-election-contracts-ahead-of-midterms-.html). The additions are aimed at helping participants evaluate trading activity and market accuracy.
Under the update, Kalshi will place warning tags on election markets that have less than $10,000 in volume. Prediction market analysts have noted that low-volume contracts can suffer from wider bid-ask spreads and heightened price volatility.
The platform is also adding Brier scores across its election markets to quantify historical accuracy by comparing market-implied probabilities directly against actual election results. In addition, a new live activity feed displays individual contract transactions in real time as they execute.
Kalshi introduced the features after observing elevated trading in local political races compared to national contests. Co-founder and Chief Executive Tarek Mansour described the midterms as the "first meaningful prediction market election," stating that the platform's election markets have expanded six times faster year-over-year than its football markets.
Internal platform figures also show that viewers outnumber active traders on midterm markets by five to one. The latest tools follow the company's July launch of its "Midterms Hub," which tracks odds across U.S. Senate and House of Representatives races.
