OpenAI Introduces Unlimited Text Chats for Free and Go Tier ChatGPT Users

OpenAI is implementing significant enhancements for users of its free and 'Go' tiers of ChatGPT. Commencing next week, individuals subscribed to these tiers will gain the capability to engage in an unrestricted number of text-based conversations with the AI chatbot, as confirmed by OpenAI.

Presently, users in these tiers may encounter usage restrictions if they exceed a certain volume of text chats. However, these specific limitations, applicable solely to text interactions, are scheduled for removal in the near future.

It is important to note that messages incorporating elements such as file uploads and images will continue to be subject to existing usage limits.

In parallel with the removal of text chat limits, OpenAI is also introducing a new 'Think' button for free and Go tier users next week. This feature is designed to grant access to enhanced reasoning capabilities for addressing more complex inquiries.

Additionally, the company is upgrading the default artificial intelligence model for these users this week. The updated model will be the recently released GPT-5.6 Luna, representing an advancement in the AI's core capabilities.

Furthermore, Plus and Pro subscribers to ChatGPT will see an improvement in the GPT-5.6 Sol model, which is expected to offer increased reliability concerning factual accuracy. This specific enhancement aims to bolster the trustworthiness of information provided to premium users.
