Ubisoft announced a comprehensive update for Ghost Recon Wildlands, bringing a 4K resolution at 60 frames per second (fps) to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. This enhancement was unveiled during the Ghost Recon 25th-anniversary showcase, with the development team at Ubisoft Bordeaux emphasizing their responsiveness to player feedback.

Creative director Olivier Leonardia and game director Benjamin Lemaire detailed that the team focused on delivering a highly requested frame rate update while also expanding upon it. They introduced a set of new features, collectively termed “Ghost Parameters,” which cater to both casual players and those seeking a more role-playing-centric experience.

Lemaire stated that the objective was to deepen immersion and provide players with additional tools to construct various scenarios while adhering to the game’s core mechanics. These tools include capabilities previously restricted to specific modes, such as authentic reloading, the option to carry one or two primary weapons, and the ability to toggle friendly fire for heightened realism.

The developers noted that these additions are intended to grant players greater flexibility in devising unique gameplay situations. Beyond these fundamental changes, the update also refines the user interface (UI), allowing players to fine-tune numerous in-game elements.

Customizable UI features include the intel HUD, input reminders, the option to deactivate the glow on highlighted objects and weapon crates, and the ability to turn off throwable item previews. These adjustments aim to empower players with more control over their visual and interactive experience.

A significant addition is the new time of day feature, which works in conjunction with weather controls. Players can now define and fix weather conditions to their preference, enabling them to experience specific missions or scenarios under desired environmental settings, such as playing at night during a rainstorm.

Furthermore, the update modifies difficulty settings by introducing presets that allow for granular control over parameters. Players can now adjust aspects like health regeneration delay, enemy endurance, and vehicle durability, offering a more personalized and challenging experience. This system is designed to provide greater freedom in tailoring the game's difficulty to individual preferences.

In conjunction with these technical and gameplay enhancements, Ubisoft also launched a complimentary downloadable content (DLC) pack for Wildlands. This DLC introduces a new narrative mission centered around a complex antagonist named La Llorona, expanding the game's story content.
